The present book intends to cover the basics and will take you on a quick round of the ICU, from the basic physics (relevant to emergency settings), airways and the applications, a section dedicated to the lungs and new uses including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) management, the heart and clinical applications for the intensivist.  It includes sections on trauma, vascular access, and nerve blocks in addition to a special section on transplant related ultrasound and a section on critical care nephrology and its applications.
