In bringing out this edition, our authors have done an extensive revision of all individual chapters by omitting few behind the time texts, incorporating recent management concepts, discussing new treatment modalities and adding new diagrams and figures. Our section editors, all of whom are experts in their own right in their respective subspecialities, have done an excellent job. They further refined editing of the chapters in their sections keeping in view the current clinical practice and need of medical students. The chapter on Nasopharynx has been shifted from Head and Neck section to the Rhinology section, where it better belongs, particularly keeping in mind the rapid developments in the field of endoscopic surgery of the sinuses, skull base and surrounding areas. Recent concepts in ever-changing management of head and neck cancersparticularly thyroid cancers, cochlear implantation/middle ear implants, allergic rhinitis/rhinosinusitis and sleep related breathing disorders have been incorporated.
