Section 1, Inquiring Voices from the Region”, has chapters on training in psychotherapy in India for psychiatrists, psychotherapy with special populations of children, persons from low literacy and socio-economic backgrounds and the current state of psychoanalytic practice in India. The last chapter in this section addresses psychological therapies in India in the Global context. Section 2,”Helpful Echoes from the Indian Diaspora,” has chapters on the journey of the psychiatrist in becoming a medical psychotherapist, placing India in their psychotherapeutic work. Chapters focusing on yoga and mindfulness in cognitive psychotherapy and psychotherapy in Bhagavad Gita are included in the second section.
